My name is Jason Jones and I am the VP/Athletic Director/PE Teacher.  On this web page is our school’s general information for extracurricular activities as well as for Physical and Health Education.  If you have any questions during the year about anything regarding PE & Athletics, please feel free to contact me.

PE Schedule

 

Please ensure your child in Gr. 1-7 wears their gym strip under their school uniform on PE days

 

Kindergarten PE – Thursdays and Fridays.

Grade 1 PE – Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Grades 2 & 3 PE – Mondays and Wednesdays.

Grade 4 PE – Wednesdays and Fridays.

Grade 5 PE – Mondays and Wednesdays.

Grade 6 & 7 PE – Tuesdays and Fridays.


Track & Field

 

Track & Field is currently underway and we look forward to a very rewarding season.  Along with the meets in which we are participating, we are also hosting our first annual track meet at our school on our new track!

 

Below is the track & field calendar/schedule, but please check the school website calendar on a regular basis in case there are any changes.  We will pass along any other information to parents that becomes available over the course of the season.

Girls Soccer

 

Our Grades 4-5 and Grades 6-7 Girls Soccer Teams have begun practices.  Here are the game schedules below:

Grades 4-5 

Tue. April 5 – at Star of the Sea

Tue. April 12 – at Sacred Heart (A)

Tue. April 19 – at Sacred Heart (B)

Playoffs (if the team qualifies) take place in a tournament on Tue. April 26.

Grades 6-7 

Thu. April 7 – vs. Sacred Heart

Wed. April 13 – at Star of the Sea

Playoffs (if the team qualifies) take place in a tournament on Mon. April 25.

Physical & Health Education

 

During Health Education in K-7, our units are as follows:

  1. Benefits of Exercise
  2. Nutrition
  3. Mental Well-Being
  4. Safety (Gr K-5); Health Education Discussion Topics (Gr. 6-7)

 

Grade 7 also take a look at ways we can look after the health and well-being of the community, with one of the tasks in that unit to write a letter to our local MLA about health services that may be lacking in our community.

During PE, here are the units for the year:

 

A) K-1

  1. Basic Movement skills; Grade 1 also focus on cross country running
  2. Ball Sports
  3. Basketball
  4. Locomotor Skills, with intro to track & field.
  5. Games

 

B) Grades 2-3

  1. Cross Country
  2. Ball Sports
  3. Basketball
  4. Track & Field
  5. Games

 

C) Grades 4-7

  1. Cross Country
  2. Volleyball
  3. Basketball
